Vattenfall: EV RangeCheck
When Sweden began making the switch from gas to electric cars, one of the biggest barriers was the fear that EVs couldn’t go the distance—literally. Vattenfall, one of Europe’s largest energy companies, wanted to help address this concern, so we created the EV RangeCheck: a digital tool that allows people to check the range of various electric car models.
People could select an electric car and then check different distances they wanted to travel to see which cars could make those trips. You could also input your day-to-day routes with multiple stops and see how long you'd last on one charge. Additionally, you could check long distances for vacation plans. If a selected car couldn’t make the entire distance, the tool would suggest a route where you could charge the car along the way. This tool helped dispel many of the early fears and misconceptions about EVs.
